Note for one, two, or three week diggers: You should plan to arrive on Sunday afternoon in time to settle in, get a good night’s sleep, and begin work on Monday, and then you can join the Saturday and Sunday tours at the end of that given work week. If you want to participate in the Sunday walking tour, just make sure to schedule your flight for some time after supper Sunday night. You can check out of the hotel first thing Sunday morning, before the day’s tours, and we’ll just keep your things in storage. This will help us keep expenses down while allowing us to enjoy your company before you depart. ☺

Our Saturday tours will usually include four or five key biblical sites and, over the course of the dig season, we will tour sites in the northern, southern, eastern, and western parts of the country. On Sundays, we have optional tours of the Old City of Jerusalem that begin right after lunch. This allows students and volunteers to sleep late, attend church if they want, and have a relaxing lunch. After lunch, for those who wish to go, we provide walking tours of the Old City of Jerusalem and nearby sites. During these tours, we walk the Via Dolorosa to the Western Wall, visit shops in the suq (the bazaar in the center of the Old City), explore the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, visit the Tomb of David, and visit nearby sites like the Garden of Gethsemane and the City of David. We hope you’ll join us for the entire dig season so that you won’t miss a single one of these exciting tours!
